Hino
will Announce Investment for a Plant in Mexico
The
Japanese Company Hino Camiones is getting ready to build a production plant
in Mexico, which will require an investment between US$6 and US$8 million
in central Mexico’s Bajio Region.
Aguascalientes,
Leon and Guanajuato are some of the options being considered, some dealers
and auto parts manufacturers said.
A
group of 15 Japanese officers from Hino were a few weeks ago in Mexico in
order to make a decision regarding this investment.
Hino
is part of Toyota group and the Division is responsible for developing, producing
and selling cargo trucks and passenger buses; therefore, if a vehicles factory
were built in Mexico it would be in order to have a wide range of products
for a more intense competition.
After
the trade opening between Mexico and Japan started in 2005, Japanese products
have been well received by Mexican consumers. Therefore, Izusu has also announced
they will build an assembly plant in Mexico.
